How can I be involved in developing the Community Strategic Plan?
Council will be holding workshops in the smaller townships of Greenvale, Hervey Range, Homestead, Pentland and Ravenswood, as well as one in Charters Towers. Dates, times and locations can be found on the main page.

What is the Community Strategic Plan?
The CSP is a key component of the Integrated Planning & Reporting Framework. It is written on behalf of the community to represent their main priorities and aspirations for the future and to plan strategies for achieving these goals. It guides all remaining strategies and plans written by Council including the Delivery Program and Operational Plan.
The minimum timeframe for a CSP is 10 years and it addresses 4 key questions:
These questions help identify the community’s vision, aspirations, and priorities and establish baseline targets, strategies, and measures to aid performance monitoring and reporting.
How does Council implement the CSP?
It is important to remember that the Community Strategic Plan for the whole Region and every resident can play a part in realising the vision, goals and strategies in it.
Council translates the goals and strategies of the Plan into actions in a 4 year Delivery Program and annual Operational Plan. All plans, projects, activities and funding allocations undertaken by the Council over its four year term must be directly linked to this Delivery Program.
How do we measure our progress in implementing the CSP?
To assess our progress, key measures are developed against the Goals and Strategies of each key theme in the Plan. Progress against these measures is documented Delivery Programs and Operational Plans.
