PROJECT OVERVIEW
Council adopted the 2025-2030 Economic Development Strategy on Wednesday, 19 March 2025.
The key objectives of the updated Economic Development Strategy are to create a clear direction for economic development initiatives, attract new businesses and investment, foster job creation and ensure the region’s competitiveness. To ensure the accuracy of this document, stakeholder engagement was conducted with local businesses, industry representatives, government agencies, and importantly the community.
The 2025 Economic Development Strategy will provide a comprehensive framework and renewed confidence for economic growth in the Charters Towers Region.
Council received funding from Mount Isa to Townsville Economic Zone (MITEZ) to complete this initiative under the MITEZ Regional Economic Grant 2023-2025.
