The Charters Towers Water Park officially opened on 18 February 2023.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The facility incorporates a water splash pad which features a tipping bucket, water slides, and various water jets and spray hoops, all under cover of giant shade sails.
Also included in the space are picnic shelters, barbeques, an amenities block, pathways, lighting, and landscaping, all contained within a fenced area.
Location
The facility is constructed on Council land in Water Street.
Investment
The project is funded through both the State Government's Works for Queensland Program and the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program ($4,298,153 fully funded), with ongoing maintenance to be funded through Council operations.
